SuperView and Windows 10

SV25 and Microsoft's Windows 8.1 release info

September 2013

Microsoft are releasing a revised version of Windows 8 called Windows 8.1 Developers like Mn'G designs have already got access to the release version whilst the general release is apparently intended for mid October. It is anticipated this version will be free to Windows 8 users.

The features are very similar to Windows 8 but they have tidied up the user interface especially for users used to Windows 7 or earlier.

Many of the changes to Windows 8.1 are to do with the Start, App and Desktop screens rather than the underlying OS. In general these changes should help users changing from Windows 7 & XP to adapt far more easily. Certainly the shock of no "Start Menu" is much reduced although it is now a App View!

Overall we recommend users adopting Win8.1 rather than 8 and although there are differences  that will affect users of XP etc. once a couple of settings are altered the changes are reasonably easy to live with.

Our recent versions of SuperView25 (7,1,0,7 and later) work well on Windows 8 and also on Windows 8.1

There are a few details that have changed relating to Start program tiles but these are not serious especially if the Apps View is used as default

As we thought no special modifications are required  to the current SV25.

If you have a version of SV25 prior to 7,1,0,7 please contact us before installing on either Win8 or Win8.1

Users of M'n'G designs SuperView21 or earlier should upgrade to SuperView25 if they intend to use Windows 8, 8.1 or Windows 7.
